General description: 

Blood-red body; a mid-spot on the pronotum and the elytra, black; the latter bearing two broken red cross-bands; the pronotum coarsely punctured in wrinkles with a smooth shaft; the puncture-stripes form coarse double rows with alternating rail-shaped, raised, smooth interspaces. [Translated from the original German in Suffrian, 1863].

Distribution:
