General description: 

Brick-red body; a large shoulder-spot and a small hind-spot on the elytra, black; the pronotum finely punctured on the outside, deeply indented at the back; strong and regular puncture-stripes, with flat, glossy interspaces. [Translated from the original German in Suffrian, 1866].
