General description: 

Brick-red body; tips of antennae, knees and foot segments, nearly black; the pronotum flat as glass; the puncture-stripes soon become fainter after very coarse front ends, with flat, rather glossy interspaces. [Translated from the original German in Suffrian, 1863].
