General description: 

Brick-red on upper side [of the body]; the head and two washed-out cross bands on the elytra, black; black underneath; red legs; a finely and densely punctured pronotum; punctured interspaces that are coarse and cross-wrinkled in front. [Translated from the original German in Suffrian, 1858].
